Take what serves you

First and foremost, most apologies for big mama's absence, I fell off. Although it's to be expected in the coming weeks when my angel arrives. At this time of year, it's very easy for us to fall victim to the funk.. Those hopeful end-of-winter blues could have you feeling lost. It might be pregnancy for me and the count down of weeks I have until my baby is ready to travel the life canal and get here. Maybe I'm anxious for her arrival, or maybe it's just constipation? Either way it's vital, whether pregnant or not, that we take what serves us and use that as a propellent for unwarranted and unwanted energy. When I say take what serves us, it's something that I only started to commit to during pregnancy and I feel like I've started to live a much more consistently happy life because of it. Taking what serves you means taking steps towards personal development and leaving emotional bullshit and things you can't change behind. Cultivate your intuition and awareness of your life as it is right now and be present in the moments you face, this is important in not clinging to old baggage for dear life.

A couple of my friends and I were talking the other day and relentlessly complaining, almost like in a way of competing to see who could self loathe the most - soon after, I stumbled upon a post that said "choose your thoughts like you choose your clothes every morning".. if we aren't choosing to look bummy, why are we allowing that for our state of mind and for the signals that we send/receive from the universe. "Good vibes" is something I've seen and heard more often now, but it really needs to be known that this isn't just a really dope catch phrase or a good quote to tattoo on our bodies, it needs to be a state of mind - a lifestyle.

Wellness is more than just fitness, it's a matter of mind, body, and spirit. Below I posted one of my many favourite yoga videos. For me, peace of mind means doing something like yoga each morning when I wake up and every evening before bed, it doesn't only help to relax the pressures that pregnancy puts on my mind and body but helps me to forge myself into a state of tranquility.

Basically, I'm now zen AF. Find yourself a hobby, set goals, stay hydrated, mind ya business, let people live, love you some you and the people around you- let go and quit being petty to yourself.
